Good to know
- A duvet cover set is the cover plus shams — the duvet insert itself isn't included. The cover is the part that shows and the part that gets washed, which is the whole idea: the insert stays protected and the look can change with the cover.
- A linen-cotton blend sits between the two fibres: some of linen's texture and breathability, with cotton softening the hand-feel and usually the price. It wrinkles less than pure linen — and reads less like linen. The honest pick depends on which fibre's character you actually want.
- Linen's character, stated plainly: it is woven from flax, it breathes and absorbs moisture well, and it wrinkles — the creased, relaxed look is inherent to the fibre, not a defect. If you want a pressed, hotel-crisp bed, linen will fight you; if you like the soft rumpled look, nothing else does it.
- 3 pieces in the set. Bedding sets count pieces differently — shams and pillowcases are pieces too — so the listing's contents list, not the headline number, is what to compare.
- Care: machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent, and line dry or tumble on low. Linen softens with washing and prefers to skip bleach and high heat.
