Specifications

Good to know

• Cotton rope baskets are coiled and stitched rope — soft-sided, flexible and forgiving: they squeeze onto shelves, don't scratch furniture, and fold flat-ish in a cupboard when empty. The trade-off is structure — a rope basket slumps a little rather than standing ramrod-straight, and stuffed full is when it looks its best.
• Listed for blankets and throws: the job is swallowing bulky, soft volume next to a sofa or bed. Soft-sided rope baskets shine here; rigid baskets hold a neater line. Check the dimensions against your thickest throw folded, not against the basket's look in the photo.
• It has handles, per the listing — on a storage basket that sounds minor until the basket is full of books or laundry and needs carrying one-handed through a doorway.
• Listed dimensions: 23.6"L x 23.6"W x 15.7"H. Measure the shelf, cubby or floor spot first — woven baskets often taper, so the base can be narrower than the rim measurement suggests.
• One rope-basket ritual: they often arrive folded and creased. Stuff the basket firmly with towels or blankets for a day or two and the coil relaxes back into shape.
